Search Engine Optimization (SEO), in simple terms, is the practice of improving the website’s organic traffic and ranking on search engines. SEO was started in 1991 with the publishing of the first website. The history of Google is very important while we strive to understand SEO History.
History of Google
Initially, Google, the largest search engine as of today was made by some students as part of their college project. And they used it as a subdomain for their college. Later the team parted ways and worked for other companies. In 1998, Larry Page and Sergey Brin rejoined and started Google as a company.
In the early days, Google’s search response was slow and took almost 24 hours to give information to the user. And the search result was sent to them via email. Companies like Yahoo, Lycos, AltaVista were the prime search engines in those days and Google was the least used one.
It was at that time the 9/11 World Trade Centre terrorist attack took place and obviously there were many queries regarding the attack. But Google couldn’t provide the users with enough answers. The team took this as a serious issue and they found that Google web pages were not crawlable. Later they decided to improve the search quality and for that, the founders decided to share the Google SEO Starter Guide as documentation for the webmasters for the awareness of SEO. This was the story that led to the emergence of SEO.

Crawling is the process done in search engines by bots/spiders to find web pages and read the page. The bots/spiders scan websites and collect information about that web page.

Indexing is the process of adding web pages to google and show them while searching
Webmaster
Webmaster is the custodian that controls and maintains one or more websites.
Niche-Specific
In the starting time google used Niche-Specific or Content Specific. Niche-Specific means showing the focusing keyword of the website. It helps to increase page ranking.
Keyword Stuffing
Webmasters used it for manipulating a site's ranking in google search results this type of practice is called Keyword Stuffing. Keyword Stuffing is a Black Hat SEO.
- Black Hat SEO:- Black Hat SEO is an unethical SEO Practice by webmasters. Webmasters used to stuff keywords to boost the webpage ranking.
- White Hat SEO:- White Hat SEO is Ethical and Genuine way of SEO practice
Link Specific
Link Specific is an algorithm change done by google to improve the quality of search results. It helps web pages to improve ranking by receiving recommendation links from other Websites. Webmasters used this way to improve the ranking as per that some of the webmasters used to it in an unauthorized way Google finds it and considered it as spamming.
Quality Link Specific
Quality Link Specific is another algorithm change by Google. It is an updated form of Link Specific to improve the quality of the webpage. Google used this way to improve the ranking by getting links from ranked websites. Some webmasters manipulate it by selling quality links so google introduced a new way Passing The Juice.
Link Juice
Link Juice is a new way introduced by google to rank pages. When websites receive more content specific link from other websites and sharing less number of link to other websites, then the equity will not pass that will leads to page ranking. This value is passed through hyperlinks. Equity will pass if we get fewer links from other websites and share lots of links.
Nofollow Attribution
It is the method used by Google to stop sharing equity through links and any link with a nofollow attribute decreases the Pagerank that the page can pass on.
Google Adwords
Google started an online advertising platform called Google Adwords. It is a Pay Per Click method so it is also called Google PPC. We have to pay google for certain money to activate Google Adwords, as per that we have to pay for a single click and Google will show our advertisement until our payment runs out.
Google Adsense
Google Adsense is an affiliated marketing program introduced by google. It is an income-earning program from their online content so webmasters try to rank pages to get more clicks in websites for generating income from Google Adsense.
Pogo Sticking
Pogo sticking means when a user searches and clicks on a result, he is not satisfied with the result on that page suddenly the user clicks the back button. this leads to dissatisfaction in the search results and effect in page ranking.
Social Media Signal
